AleaScript
Experimental tabletop role-playing game design.
AleaScript gathers projects that explore how rules, fiction, character perspectives and imagined worlds shape one another at the table. You will find games, some of them deliberately bounded experiments, along with the design frameworks they are built on.
Games
Glorantha Perspectives
A role-playing game for exploring Glorantha through the perspectives, beliefs and choices of its inhabitants.
A concrete application of Regard to a world where what is perceived and meaningful depends on who is looking.
Between & Beyond
A role-playing game about what exceeds us, and those who stand between.
Play the Agents through whom a Power — Death, the Divine, Dreams, the Unknown… — becomes present in the world, and explore otherwise: what they become through that contact.
Unmind
A short, closed and demanding Resonance role-playing game.
A deliberately bounded experiment about loss, revelation and a mind coming apart.
Frameworks and design research
The foundations these games are built on, for those interested in game design. These are works in progress.
Resonance
An experimental game design paradigm for tabletop role-playing games.
A laboratory for exploring how systems, players, fiction and worlds shape one another.
Regard
A TTRPG framework with a fully playable standard configuration.
Fiction determines what matters and can shape how uncertainty is resolved.
Lineage
Resonance → Regard → Glorantha Perspectives, Between & Beyond
Resonance explores the design paradigm. Regard turns that research into a playable framework. Two games build on it:
- Glorantha Perspectives explores elsewhere: seeing from within a world and perspectives that are not our own.
- Between & Beyond explores otherwise: what an Agent may become through contact with the world and with what transcends them.
Glorantha Perspectives: seeing from elsewhere.
Between & Beyond: becoming otherwise.
Resonance → Unmind
Unmind explores a different, deliberately bounded path directly from Resonance.
