Edkored

Edkored is an actual game of Glorantha Perspectives, published as a playtest chronicle set in Sartar.

The chronicle begins with a Session 0 that serves both as played character creation and as a true opening adventure. Edkored does not enter play as an already finished sheet: his voice, Runes, life chapters, and first Situation all emerge within the same continuity of play.

He thus appears as an Orlanthi man in his thirties, a theist, a solitary adept of Orlanth who has taken to the outlaw life in the Dogbone hills. Air, Movement, and Death already structure what he recognizes in himself when the Living Portrait takes shape.

Reading a session

Each session is preserved in four complementary forms:

  • Transcript — the game in its real order, including exchanges, Focuses, Bets, and dice;
  • Story — the same session told as a continuous story;
  • Time Backstage — what the played session lets us analyse about the Situation and resolutions, without exposing threads that remain active;
  • Living Portrait — Edkored's state exactly at the end of the session.

Living Portraits remain historical snapshots: later sessions will have their own Portraits.

Backstage

Time Backstage pages do not publish information that remains secret for the campaign.

Sessions

Session 0 — Breath and Lightning

This session first plays through the character's emergence: concept, voice, Runes, life chapters, and worldview.

It then shifts into a full first Situation. In the Dogbone hills, Edkored diverts a Tarshite patrol threatening a Kolati shaman. A sign from Orlanth then draws him toward Still Lake, where he barely saves Vorlak, a young Mudhen rebel, before boarding a boat bound for Orstalor Spearlord's crannog.

This “Session 0” therefore fully serves its double function: bringing the Protagonist into existence and immediately setting his story in motion.
