Regard

Play / read Regard

Question tested

Can selecting what matters in fiction become the central resolution gesture without pre-encoding everything that may ever matter?

Burden targeted

Reduce searching for the right skill, modifier, or rule, and reduce the need to translate every fictional detail into a prior mechanical taxonomy.

Complexity to preserve or generate

Fiction should remain open: relationships, objects, obligations, wounds, beliefs, or new circumstances must be able to matter without having been listed as system options beforehand.

Device

Regard distinguishes Intention, Focus, and Bets. A Bet is a fictional truth made relevant by the situation. When different perspectives deserve to process uncertainty differently, Prisms can carry those perspectives.

Observation

“What matters here?” acts as a compact semantic interface. It localizes complexity when it becomes relevant instead of modeling all of it in advance.

Burden shift

This openness still requires judgment. Determining relevance can transfer work into table negotiation or facilitation if criteria are not sufficiently shareable.

Implication

Regard is both a playable result and an experimental ground. Its architecture is not a mechanical definition of Resonance; other experiments must be able to answer the same questions through entirely different forms.

Status

Playable framework, provisional result, and active experimental ground.
